St. Patrick's Day Country Dinner

Please join us for a St. Patrick's Day Country Dinner beginning at 1:30 pm. Dinner will include baked ham, roast pork loin with applesauce, colcannon, Barm Brack and all the trimmings. Catering is provided by Rosie Balogh. Price is $25.00 per adult, $12.50 per child 12 and under and preschoolers are free.

Students from the McGinley Academy of Irish Dance in Georgetown will be performing at Cottonwood Mansion Museum's Saint Patrick's Day Dinner on Sunday, March 12th, at the Selkirk heritage site. They have qualified to go to the Worlds Irish Dancing Championships in Dublin, Ireland, in April. They will do traditional Irish dancing after the dinner at Cottonwood.

Cottonwood Mansion Dolly Tea Party-Grandmother/Mother/Daughter/Dolly

Our annual Dolly Tea Party on Saturday May 6th is another sell out with 100 mothers and daughters attending. It is such a success that it was sold out on the day of the 2016 tea party. The girls and their mothers/grandmothers enjoy a luncheon tea, crafts and activities. The day also includes special food and craft for the dolls. This year's theme involves magical unicorns and rainbows. The girls, ages 2 to 15, all have a wonderful day. Isn't it wonderful that their mothers get to come with them!

Regular Season Opening Date

Due to anticipated construction the Mansion will open for the regular season on May 11, 2017 at 11:00 am. Any special events or rental bookings before this date will still be taking place as scheduled.

Annual General Meeting

The Annual General Meeting of the Cottonwood Mansion Preservation Foundation will take place on May 27, 2017 beginning at 11:00 am. It will be followed by the traditional pot luck lunch of years past. Members are asked to bring a hot or cold dish and many may wish to repeat the tradition of bringing food from the Mansion's recipe book. Proxies for the use of those unable to attend the meeting will be included with the Spring 2017 newsletter.

High Tea-Downton Abbey Style

Please join us at the Mansion on June 17, 2017 at 1:30 pm for High Tea-Downton Abbey Style. Victorian Costumes would be appreciated but are not required. 8th Annual Daylily Sale

Saturday, July 22 from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. or sold out

Cottonwood volunteer Mary Ann Pearson will again offer registered hybrid daylilies for sale at the Mansion from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. or sold out.

Daylilies are drought tolerant, easy to care for perennials requiring full to part sun. Large and small flower and double varieties in a range of colours will be offered, including special hybrids, priced from $5 to $25 depending on variety. All proceeds from the daylily sale go to benefit Cottonwood Mansion.

12th Annual Victorian Brass Concert and Peach Social


Starting at 2 p.m., come and listen to the Cottonwood Brass Quintet perform historic music on antique and period instruments with special guest Dr. Henry Meredith. Self-guided tours of the Mansion will be available. Please bring a lawn chair. Admission includes a Peach dessert. Adults $10, Children (twelve and under) $5, Pre-Schoolers free.

Victorian High Tea


Please join us at the Mansion on October 14, 2017 at 2:00 pm. for a Victorian High Tea. The first in a series of lunch and learn teas to be hosted by the Mansion. Mary Ann and David Pearson will be presenting their Victorian and Vintage Pottery exhibit which is currently on display. Victorian costumes are appreciated but not required. Reservations required on or before October 10th by calling 905-776-2538 or email cottonwoodmansion@gmail.com.

Remembrance Day Lunch and Learn

Please join us at the Mansion for our Remembrance Day Lunch and Learn on Sunday, November 12, 2017 at 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm. Cost is $12.00 per person and includes soup, sandwiches, dessert, tea and coffee. Craig Sitter will be presenting his extensive Canada 150 coin collection. Norma Mowat who served as a member of the Canadian Women's Army Corps during WWII will be sharing her experiences along with some of her WWII artifacts.
